Mentor Law Group provides legal services in the areas of natural resources, environmental and land use, and Indian law. Our practice is dedicated to creating balanced and effective solutions in water resource management, renewable energy, complex project development, natural resource regulation, water rights, land use permitting, governmental relations, real estate development and land conservation.

Water law:
Advising individual landowners, Indian tribes, non-profit organizations, municipalities, developers, industrial users, resorts, golf courses, and others on water rights issues throughout the western Unitied States. We help clients develop water supply strategies, obtain permits and approvals for new water rights and changes of existing water rights, perform conscientious evaluations of water rights available for purchase, and protect their water rights through litigation and advocacy.
Indian law: Providing assistance and mediation services working for and with Indian tribes on land use and environmental matters. Our attorneys have assisted Indian tribes and organizations with a variety of natural resource, governance, cultural resource and economic development issues. We also represent developers and property owners in resolving concerns raised by tribes in connection with a range of energy and resource development projects.
Environmental and land use regulation and permitting: Representing developers of commercial and mixed use projects, mining companies, municipal corporations, and energy project developers with assistance obtaining land development permits and entitlements.
Litigation: Defending permits and approvals obtained by clients, challenging adverse regulatory decisions, and resolving contract and other disputes involving the development of land or natural resources. Our attorneys have litigated land use and natural resource matters before the Shorelines Hearings Board, the Pollution Control Hearings Board, Growth Management Hearings Board, County Superior Courts, the Washington Courts of Appeals, the Washington Supreme Court, federal administrative bodies along with district and appellate courts.
Governmental Relations: Helping public and private organizations to find and implement legislative and regulatory solutions. Our attorneys' prior experience with working as legislative and committee staff, and representing business and utility interests in the legislative arena enable us to provide effective assistance in the legislative and rule making process. We assist governmental, quasi-governmental and non-profit organizations with corporate and governance needs.
Land Conservation: Assisting clients to implement land, water and other resource conservation objectives, including the creation of land trusts, conservation easements and trust water transfers. Our attorneys' support clients in these mechanisms to designate or preserve certain types of land, water and other resource uses either independently, or as part of a larger development project.
